When a workout is not functional it means it's only meant for the sport it exists in. Generally there's a detrimental value on your body outside of that sport. Think about a powerlifter. They have the perfect body for powerlifting but we all know their knees and spine don't wind up in the best condition for everyday life.
The way I see it, there's two types of bodybuilding: one that goes for size only and ignores everything else and the other that wants to stay athletic in their pursuit of a bodybuilders physique. There's nothing wrong with either approach but the truth is, there's way more trainers, programs, and pros who support the size game and less quality content for the people who want to stay athletic, mobile, and feeling healthy as well.
That's why I built Functional Physique. To provide a way to create a functional and healthy body while also building a muscular and toned physique. This is how I've trained for the past 8 years. It's lead me to a pro bodybuilding title while also maintaining the ability to sprint, backflip and perform calisthenics skills. Give it a shot and see for yourself.
